A high-contrast serif with sharp hairlines and robust main stems, showing a distinctly vertical stress. Serifs are fine and mostly bracketed, with crisp, tapered terminals that give strokes a chiseled, calligraphic finish. Proportions feel traditionally bookish: capitals are stately with ample interior space, while lowercase forms are compact and rhythmic, with clear modulation in curves (notably in o/e/c) and slightly varying widths across the alphabet. Numerals follow the same contrast and refinement, reading cleanly with narrow joins and pronounced thick–thin transitions.

Well suited for long-form reading in books and editorial layouts where a classic serif texture is desired. It also performs strongly in display applications—chapter openings, pull quotes, headlines, and formal stationery—where the high contrast can be showcased.

The overall tone is polished and classical, evoking editorial seriousness and a sense of heritage. Its sharp detailing and contrast lend a sophisticated, upscale feel suited to formal communication rather than casual or playful contexts.

The design appears intended to deliver a traditional, authoritative text serif with elevated contrast and crisp finishing, balancing readability with a refined, print-classical aesthetic. It aims to provide a dignified voice for editorial and literary typography while remaining clean and conventional in structure.

At text sizes, the pronounced contrast and delicate serifs create a bright, sparkling texture, while at larger sizes the sculpted terminals and tight joins become more prominent. The lowercase shows traditional shaping cues (two-storey a, single-storey g) that support a conventional, literary voice.
