A high-contrast serif with sharp, wedge-like serifs and strongly tapered strokes that create a crisp, sculpted silhouette. Curves show a subtle calligraphic influence with swelling into heavy bowls and quick hairline exits, while joins and shoulders feel brisk and slightly angular. Terminals frequently finish in small balls or teardrops, adding a decorative snap to letters like the lowercase a, f, and g. Capitals are sturdy and stately with generous bowls and pronounced contrast, while the lowercase maintains a traditional text structure with a moderate x-height and clear differentiation between stems and hairlines.

Best suited for display and short to medium settings where its contrast and terminal details can be appreciated—book and magazine titling, pull quotes, headlines, and refined branding. It can work for body copy at comfortable sizes in print-oriented layouts, but its sharp hairlines and decorative terminals make it most compelling when given space and good reproduction.

The tone is classical and bookish, with a confident, slightly theatrical presence. Its high contrast and ornate terminals give it a refined, old-world character that reads as formal and cultivated rather than minimal or neutral.

The design appears intended to reinterpret a traditional old-style serif with heightened contrast and expressive terminals, aiming for an elevated, literary texture that feels both classic and distinctive on the page.

In text, the face produces a lively rhythm driven by pronounced thick–thin transitions and pointed serif accents. Some letterforms show distinctly individualized construction (notably the lowercase g and the energetic curves in s and y), which contributes to a decorative flavor even in otherwise traditional proportions.
