This typeface is a high-contrast italic serif with a distinctly calligraphic construction. Strokes show a clear diagonal axis and pronounced thick–thin modulation, with wedge-like, bracketed serifs and tapered entry/exit strokes that give forms a flowing rhythm. Capitals are stately and slightly wider in feel, while the lowercase is more dynamic, with single-storey a and g, lively joins, and angled terminals. Numerals follow the same italic, contrasty pattern, with sculpted curves and sharp, crisp finishing details.

It suits editorial typography, book and magazine settings, and long-form reading where a classic italic voice is desired. The expressive italic character also works well for pull quotes, introductions, and refined display lines such as invitations or formal announcements, especially when set at comfortable text sizes with adequate leading.

The overall tone is traditional and refined, evoking bookish authority and editorial polish. Its energetic italic slant adds sophistication and motion, reading as expressive rather than purely utilitarian. The contrast and sharp finishing lend a sense of ceremony and seriousness.

The design appears intended to provide a conventional, readable serif italic with a strong historical, calligraphic flavor—balancing elegance and authority while remaining usable in paragraph settings.

Spacing appears relatively open for an italic, helping maintain clarity in continuous text despite the strong slant and contrast. Round letters show noticeable diagonal stress, and many characters feature subtly flared strokes that reinforce the pen-made impression.
