A very weighty serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and tightly bracketed, wedge-like serifs. Curves are full and rounded, with evident ball/teardrop terminals on several lowercase letters, giving the shapes a sculpted, slightly calligraphic finish despite the upright stance. Counters are compact and the overall color is dense, producing strong horizontal rhythm in mixed-case text. Numerals appear oldstyle in character, with rounded forms and varying extents that reinforce the traditional texture.

Well suited to headlines and subheads in editorial layouts, as well as display use on posters and book covers where a classic, weighty serif voice is desired. It can also support brand marks and packaging that benefit from a traditional, authoritative typographic tone, especially when set with generous spacing.

The font reads as traditional and assertive, with a newspaper/book typography flavor and a confident, formal presence. Its heavy build and sharp serifs create a serious, authoritative tone, while the rounded terminals add a touch of warmth and craft.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional serif reading voice with extra visual punch: a bold, high-contrast structure for strong emphasis, paired with traditional serif detailing and rounded terminals to maintain a familiar, literary texture.

In the sample text, the heavy strokes and compact counters make it most comfortable at larger sizes, where the high contrast and terminal details stay crisp. The uppercase shows a monumental, engraved feel, while the lowercase contributes a more literary, oldstyle voice.
