This serif has sharply defined, bracketed serifs and a pronounced thick–thin modulation that gives it a crisp, editorial color. Capitals are stately and fairly wide with sturdy vertical stems, while curves (C, G, O, Q) show smooth, controlled stress. The lowercase mixes compact bowls with distinctive ball terminals (notably on f and y), a two-storey g, and a long-tailed Q, creating a traditional text rhythm. Numerals appear oldstyle (with ascenders/descenders) and match the text face’s contrast and serif treatment for seamless setting in running copy.

It fits long-form reading contexts such as books, journals, and editorial layouts, where a classic serif voice and strong typographic hierarchy are needed. The higher contrast and confident capitals also make it effective for headlines, pull quotes, and refined brand titles where a traditional, trustworthy impression is desired.

The overall tone is traditional and composed, projecting authority and established taste. Its contrast and clean finishing lend a slightly ceremonial, print-oriented feel suited to serious, content-forward typography.

The design appears aimed at a conventional, print-classic serif voice with crisp contrast and familiar, time-tested details. It prioritizes a polished reading texture and a formal tone while retaining enough character in terminals and figures to feel distinctive in editorial use.

Counters remain open and well-shaped in the sample text, and the serifs stay crisp without becoming spiky, supporting clear word shapes at larger text and display sizes. The ampersand is compact and formal, aligning with the font’s restrained, editorial character.
