A condensed, print-like serif with jagged, distressed contours and a deliberately uneven stroke finish. Letterforms keep a generally traditional skeleton, but edges look chipped and eroded, with small notches, burrs, and irregular terminals that mimic worn metal type or rough ink spread. Strokes show moderate contrast and a slightly restless rhythm, while counters remain mostly open and readable. Spacing and widths vary subtly across characters, reinforcing a handmade, imperfect texture rather than a mechanically uniform build.

Best suited to display settings where the worn, jagged texture can be appreciated—titles, headers, posters, packaging, and cover art for horror, fantasy, or historical themes. It can also work for short UI labels or in-game typography when a gritty, aged atmosphere is desired; for longer passages, it’s most effective when set large with generous spacing.

The overall tone is dark, antique, and theatrical, with a roughened presence that reads as aged, arcane, or cautionary. Its distressed surface and narrow proportions create a tense, storybook mood—part old-world print, part horror prop—without becoming fully chaotic or illegible.

The design appears intended to evoke distressed letterpress or aged signage by combining a familiar serif structure with deliberately eroded edges and inconsistent ink-like contours. It prioritizes mood and texture while maintaining enough structural clarity for headline reading.

The texture is consistent across caps, lowercase, and numerals, so the distressed effect reads as an intentional system rather than random noise. At smaller sizes the rough edges can visually thicken and shimmer, while at larger sizes the chipped details become a key stylistic feature.
