A bold, high-contrast serif with visibly uneven, deckled outlines that mimic ink spread or worn print. Strokes show pronounced thick–thin modulation, with bracketed serifs and softly swelling joins that give the forms a carved, tactile silhouette. Proportions are compact through the lowercase, with a short x-height, sturdy verticals, and slightly irregular curves that create a lively rhythm rather than strict geometric consistency. Spacing appears moderately open for the weight, helping counters stay readable despite the textured edges.

Best suited to display settings where the distressed texture can be appreciated—posters, titles, editorial headlines, book covers, and period-inspired packaging or identity work. It can work for short passages at comfortable sizes, but the rough edges and strong contrast will be most effective when allowed generous size and spacing.

The overall tone feels antique and handmade, evoking distressed letterpress, old book typography, and frontier or apothecary-era printing. Its rough contouring adds grit and character, lending an expressive, slightly ominous or theatrical flavor when set large.

The design appears aimed at recreating the feel of aged, ink-pressed serif typography—combining traditional old-style structure with a deliberately weathered surface to add immediacy and historical character. It prioritizes atmosphere and texture while keeping familiar serif proportions for legible, classic forms.

The texture is consistent across caps, lowercase, and numerals, with intentional waviness at terminals and along straight stems. The uppercase set reads particularly commanding, while the lowercase retains a sturdy, storybook-like cadence; the distressed edges remain a defining feature even in running text.
