This serif shows sturdy verticals with subtly tapered stems that flare into bracketed terminals, giving the letters a carved, inscribed feel rather than a purely transitional rhythm. The serifs are crisp and relatively compact, with a consistent vertical stress and minimal stroke modulation across curves and joins. Counters are moderately tight and the overall set is compact, helping the face hold dense texture in paragraphs while keeping edges sharp and well-defined. Numerals and capitals share the same firm stance and squared-off finishing, reinforcing a cohesive, print-forward texture.

It suits book typography, long-form editorial, and magazine layouts where a compact serif texture is desirable. The strong capitals and crisp terminals also make it effective for headlines, section openers, and identity work that benefits from a classic, authoritative voice.

The tone is traditional and assertive, with a slightly engraved personality that reads as established and serious. It evokes bookish, institutional, and editorial contexts—confident without being ornate, and formal without feeling delicate.

The design appears aimed at combining traditional serif conventions with subtly flared, chiseled stroke endings to create a robust reading face that also carries a distinctive, engraved signature in display use.

In text settings the type builds a dark, even color with clear word shapes; the flared endings and tight apertures add a distinctive bite at larger sizes while remaining composed in continuous reading. The lowercase keeps a conventional structure, and the punctuation and figures inherit the same disciplined, sharp terminal treatment.
