A roughened old-style serif with visibly irregular outlines and ink-like spread that gives each letter a slightly different edge. Strokes are moderately contrasted with tapered joins, pinched curves, and occasional blunt terminals that suggest worn printing or a distressed pen. Proportions are compact and slightly condensed, with a small x-height and tall ascenders/descenders; spacing and widths vary subtly, adding an organic, uneven rhythm. Numerals and capitals maintain the same distressed texture, keeping the set visually consistent in tone.

Best suited for display roles where texture is desired: horror or mystery titles, fantasy and folklore branding, theatrical posters, game UI headings, and rustic packaging. It can work for short passages in larger sizes, but the distressed edges and uneven rhythm are most effective in headlines, pull quotes, and logo-style wordmarks.

The overall tone feels antique and handmade, with a lightly ominous, folkloric edge. It reads like weathered signage or aged book typography—evoking mystery, old-world craft, and a hint of theatrical spookiness without becoming illegible.

The design appears intended to simulate aged, hand-inked or worn letterpress typography while preserving recognizable serif forms. Its goal is to deliver character and atmosphere—an authentic, timeworn voice—through controlled irregularity and a consistently distressed silhouette.

The distressing is structural rather than decorative: many contours show small bites, nicks, and waviness that become more pronounced at larger sizes. Curves and bowls often look slightly flattened or uneven, reinforcing the impression of imperfect impression/printing and making the texture a key part of the design identity.
