A robust serif with pronounced stroke contrast and strongly sculpted, wedge-like/bracketed serifs. The letterforms feel calligraphically constructed: stems end in flared terminals, curves swell and taper, and joins create a subtle written rhythm rather than purely mechanical geometry. Capitals are wide and authoritative with generous bowls and clear vertical stress, while the lowercase shows compact, sturdy shapes with ball-like terminals (notably on forms like a and c) and a single-storey g. Numerals are sturdy and old-style in spirit, with broad curves and sharply cut tops and serifs that match the text texture.

It performs especially well for display typography—headlines, subheads, pull quotes, and cover treatments—where its sculpted serifs and contrast can be appreciated. It can also support editorial settings for short-to-medium passages where a traditional, authoritative texture is desired, particularly in print-oriented layouts.

The overall tone is formal and traditional, with an editorial, bookish gravitas. Its weight and contrast give it a confident, ceremonious voice that feels suited to heritage, academia, and classic print sensibilities rather than casual or utilitarian UI.

The design appears intended to blend a classic serif foundation with a distinctly calligraphic, hand-shaped finish—prioritizing characterful terminals, strong contrast, and an assertive text color to convey tradition and prominence.

The font builds a dark, even typographic color at text sizes, with distinctive, slightly angular serif shapes that add personality. Curves are generous and the interior counters remain readable, producing a strong presence in headlines and short blocks of copy.
