A heavy, bracketed slab serif with compact curves, broad capitals, and a strong horizontal emphasis. Strokes are largely even, with subtle modulation and generous, squared serifs that soften into the stems via visible bracketing. Counters are relatively tight and apertures lean closed, giving the face a dense, print-forward color, while terminals stay blunt and rectangular. The lowercase is sturdy and readable with a clear, traditional structure, and the numerals share the same weighty, squared-off construction for consistent rhythm in text and display.

Best suited to headlines, posters, mastheads, and packaging where a strong serif presence is needed. It also performs well in short editorial blocks, pull quotes, and cover typography where a dense, high-impact texture can carry the page.

The overall tone is assertive and dependable, with a familiar editorial and collegiate flavor. It feels grounded and workmanlike rather than delicate, projecting authority and practicality in headlines and short text.

The design appears intended to deliver a bold, traditional slab-serif voice that remains legible and controlled under heavy weight. It balances sturdy, rectangular detailing with gentle bracketing to keep the forms approachable in both display and larger text settings.

Spacing and sidebearings read slightly generous for the weight, helping prevent the dark forms from clogging at larger settings. Round letters (C, O, G) appear firmly contained and not overly open, reinforcing a compact texture, while the slab serifs create a steady baseline and cap line that enhances structure.
