A conventional serif with clear contrast between thick and thin strokes and smoothly bracketed, wedge-like serifs. Curves are full and slightly elliptical, with a calm, even rhythm in text and generous counters that keep letters open. The lowercase shows a double-storey a and g, a modestly earred g, and a compact e with a relatively small eye; terminals are tidy and slightly tapered rather than blunt. Capitals are proportionate and stately, with an elegant, slightly calligraphic stress visible in rounded forms and in the shaping of the S. The numerals appear oldstyle (text) figures, with varied heights and some descenders, contributing to a traditional reading texture.

Well-suited to long-form reading such as books, essays, and editorial layouts where a traditional serif texture is desired. It can also serve effectively in formal documents, institutional communications, and magazine typography, especially at text and subhead sizes.

The overall tone is bookish and established, evoking editorial credibility and a traditional print sensibility. Its contrast and crisp serif detailing lend a refined, slightly formal voice without feeling ornate.

The design appears intended as a dependable, traditional text serif that prioritizes readability and typographic familiarity while adding a touch of refinement through pronounced contrast and carefully bracketed serifs.

In the sample text, the font maintains a smooth grayscale at larger sizes, with distinct word shapes and clear punctuation. The ampersand is classic and compact, and the stroke modulation remains consistent across capitals, lowercase, and figures.
