This serif typeface shows pronounced thick–thin modulation with crisp, tapered terminals and bracketed wedge serifs. Capitals are stately and evenly proportioned, with a round, open C/G and a strong vertical stress across the set. The lowercase has a traditional, oldstyle rhythm: a double-storey a, a two-storey g with a distinct ear, and a relatively compact, curved-shoulder n/m that keeps word shapes cohesive. Numerals are well balanced and text-oriented, with clear counters and smooth curves, maintaining a consistent dark–light pattern across lines.

It fits extended reading in books and long-form editorial layouts, where its traditional proportions and strong serifs support consistent word shapes. The crisp contrast also makes it effective for magazine typography and display-sized headings, pull quotes, and formal announcements where a classic serif presence is desired.

The overall tone is classic and bookish, projecting polish and credibility without feeling ornamental. Its sharp contrast and sculpted serifs give it a refined, editorial voice suited to formal communication.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-contrast text serif that references historical book types while remaining clean and controlled for contemporary composition. Its balanced proportions and restrained detailing suggest a goal of dependable readability paired with a cultured, editorial character.

In text settings the face builds a confident color with noticeable sparkle from the contrast, while maintaining clear letter differentiation (notably in forms like I/J, O/Q, and c/e). The design favors traditional detailing over geometric simplification, emphasizing curved joins and tapered strokes for an engraved, print-like feel.
