A compressed, blocky display face built from tall rectangular silhouettes with irregular, carved-out counters. Letterforms read as solid black tiles that are “eaten away” by sharp, angular interior voids and occasional slivers, creating a stark positive/negative interplay. Edges are intentionally uneven and torn, with inconsistent sidebearings and a jittery rhythm that makes each glyph feel individually cut or printed. Strokes don’t follow smooth curves; instead they rely on faceted cuts and abrupt notches, producing a rugged texture across lines of text.

Best suited to high-impact headlines and short bursts of copy where texture is an asset—concert posters, album art, event promos, zines, packaging accents, and edgy brand marks. It works particularly well in high-contrast black-and-white layouts and can be used to create pattern-like typographic blocks.

The overall tone is raw and confrontational, with a handmade, photocopied or stamped aesthetic. Its aggressive contrast between mass and void feels urban and underground—more zine, poster, and street-flyer than polished editorial typography.

The design appears intended to invert expectations of a heavy condensed display by shifting recognition into carved interior shapes, mimicking cut-paper, stencil damage, or distressed print artifacts. Its irregular rhythm and rough contours suggest an aim for expressive, analog grit rather than neutral readability.

In text, the dense black rectangles knit into a near-continuous band, while the inner cutouts carry most of the letter recognition. The irregular widths and distressed interiors add strong character but reduce clarity at small sizes or tight tracking, so it benefits from generous size and spacing.
