A high-contrast serif with crisp, bracketed serifs and a pronounced thick–thin rhythm. Capitals are stately and relatively wide, with sharp terminals and tapered joins that suggest a refined, calligraphic influence. Lowercase forms are compact with a moderate x-height, strong vertical stress, and cleanly cut serifs; curves (c, e, o) show tight apertures and smooth modulation, while the two-storey a and single-storey g reinforce a traditional text-seriffed structure. Numerals follow the same contrast and detailing, with clear, upright proportions and sturdy verticals.

Well-suited to editorial typography such as magazines, book interiors, and long-form reading where a classic serif voice is desired. It also performs strongly for headlines, pull quotes, and refined branding that benefits from high contrast and sharp detailing, especially in larger sizes or high-quality print.

The overall tone is polished and traditional, carrying a bookish, editorial confidence. Its sharp serifs and dramatic modulation add a sense of sophistication and ceremony, making it feel suited to established institutions and high-end publishing.

The design appears aimed at delivering a conventional, literary serif voice with heightened contrast and crisp finishing, balancing traditional proportions with a more fashion-forward sharpness. It prioritizes an authoritative page color and a refined, polished silhouette for editorial and display settings.

At larger sizes the fine hairlines and delicate inner curves read as precise and luxurious, while the heavier strokes keep words grounded and dark on the page. The rhythm is consistent across uppercase and lowercase, giving paragraphs a tidy, formal texture.
