A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, bracketed serifs. The letterforms are generously proportioned with wide counters and a steady baseline, producing a dark, even text color at display and text sizes. Curves show a traditional stress and smooth joins, while terminals frequently resolve into beaks or small balls (notably in letters like a, c, f, j), adding definition without becoming ornamental. Figures and capitals are solid and stately, with strong verticals and confident, slightly flared finishing strokes.

Well-suited to editorial typography where a strong serif voice is needed—magazine headings, article titles, pull quotes, and section openers. Its sturdy construction and open counters also make it a good candidate for book typography and formal brand applications that benefit from a traditional, authoritative tone.

The overall tone is classic and editorial, communicating authority and tradition. Its weight and contrast give it a formal presence suited to serious, established contexts rather than playful or minimalist ones.

This design appears intended as a conventional, highly readable serif with elevated contrast and a heavier texture, balancing classic book-type cues with enough weight to perform confidently in display settings.

In running text the spacing reads stable and measured, with clear differentiation between similar shapes and ample interior space that supports legibility. The lowercase shows familiar, conventional constructions (two-storey a and g), reinforcing a timeless text-seriffed feel while the bolder weight keeps it impactful in headlines.
