A conventional serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, bracketed serifs. Stems are sturdy and largely upright, while bowls and arches show a clear vertical stress and tight, controlled curves. The capitals are broad and stately with sharp, tapered terminals (notably on C, G, S, and T), and the overall spacing reads even and text-oriented. Lowercase forms are compact and traditional, with a two-storey a, a pointed, angular top on the t, and ball-like terminals on letters such as f and y that add a slightly calligraphic finish. Numerals are similarly high-contrast and old-style in feel, with generous curves and distinct stroke tapering.

Well-suited to editorial and book typography where a traditional, high-contrast serif is desired, especially in print contexts. It also works effectively for headings, pull quotes, and institutional branding that benefits from a classic, authoritative presence.

The font projects a bookish, establishment tone—measured, serious, and familiar in a way that signals authority and tradition. Its high-contrast rhythm and sharp detailing create a refined, slightly ceremonial voice suited to formal typography.

The design appears intended as a traditional, text-first serif that balances readability with a refined, high-contrast elegance. Its detailing suggests an aim to evoke established literary and editorial conventions while adding a touch of sharp, calligraphic polish.

In the text sample, the face maintains a steady baseline rhythm and clear word shapes, with strong emphasis in uppercase due to the heavier verticals and large serifs. The combination of crisp serifs, tapered joins, and occasional ball terminals gives it a subtly expressive, engraved-like texture without leaving the realm of conventional text serifs.
