A high-contrast serif with a distinctly calligraphic, back-slanted (reverse-italic) construction. Stems show pronounced thick–thin modulation with tapered terminals and sharply defined, bracketed wedge serifs that give letters a lively, engraved feel. Proportions lean toward compact, slightly condensed forms with a gently undulating baseline rhythm; curves (C, G, O) are full and rounded while diagonals (V, W, X) are crisp and angular. Lowercase features a single-storey g with a prominent ear and a long, descending q, reinforcing an oldstyle text character.

Well suited to long-form editorial and book typography where a traditional, characterful serif is desired, especially in display sizes and pull quotes where the contrast and rhythm can shine. It also fits refined branding, packaging, and formal stationery that benefit from a classic, print-rooted tone.

The overall tone is traditional and literary, with an assertive, somewhat dramatic voice created by the strong contrast and reverse slant. It reads as bookish and formal, evoking classic print, editorial typography, and historical lettering rather than a neutral contemporary texture.

The design appears intended to blend conventional text-serif structure with a strong calligraphic stress and reverse-italic motion, creating a distinctive classical texture that feels both authoritative and expressive.

Counters are relatively open for a high-contrast design, and the italic-like movement is achieved more through asymmetric shaping and back-leaning stress than through extreme slanting. Numerals follow the same oldstyle sensibility, with varied widths and distinctive, tapered finishing strokes.
