A sturdy serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and clearly bracketed, flared serifs. Curves show rounded, teardrop-like terminals (notably on C, G, and S), while vertical stems stay firm and dark, producing a strong typographic color. Counters are relatively compact in many letters, and the lowercase features traditional book-serif shapes with a two-storey a and g, a wedge-like foot on l, and a robust, slightly condensed feel in complex forms like m and w. Numerals follow the same high-contrast, old-style editorial rhythm, with generous curves and crisp serifs that keep figures weighty and readable at display sizes.

Well suited to headlines, subheads, and titling where its contrast and firm serifs can project authority. It also fits editorial branding and book or magazine applications, particularly for section openers and pull quotes where a traditional, print-like texture is desired.

The font conveys a classic, institutional tone—confident and serious, with an editorial presence. Its strong contrast and weight give it a decisive, headline-forward voice that feels rooted in traditional print typography.

The design appears intended to deliver a traditional, bookish serif voice with elevated contrast for impact—balancing classical proportions with energetic terminals to keep display typography expressive while remaining conventional and readable.

Across the set, terminals alternate between sharp serif edges and softened, ball/teardrop endings, creating a lively rhythm without breaking overall formality. The combination of heavy verticals and refined hairlines makes the design feel best when given enough size and line spacing to keep fine strokes from visually closing in.
