A heavy, high-contrast serif with strongly vertical construction and sharp, fine hairlines against dense main strokes. Serifs are crisp and relatively unbracketed, giving corners a clean, chiseled feel, while curves (notably in C, G, O, and S) show pronounced thick–thin modulation. Counters are compact and apertures are fairly tight, contributing to a dark, authoritative texture in text. The lowercase has a comparatively small x-height with prominent ascenders and sturdy, weighty bowls; numerals follow the same bold/razor-thin rhythm with clear, traditional shapes.

Best used for headlines, cover lines, and other display typography where its dramatic thick–thin rhythm can be appreciated. It fits editorial and cultural applications—magazines, book covers, event posters—and brand moments that benefit from a traditional, authoritative serif with high impact.

The overall tone is stately and emphatic, projecting a classic, print-forward authority with a theatrical edge. Its pronounced contrast and dense color feel confident and ceremonial, suited to messaging that needs to read as important or elevated.

The design appears intended to deliver classic serif prestige with maximal contrast and a bold, attention-grabbing presence. It prioritizes striking silhouettes and a strong vertical rhythm, aiming for refined display impact rather than quiet, low-contrast text neutrality.

In continuous text, the strong contrast and compact counters create a very dark page color, especially at larger sizes where the hairlines and sharp serifs become a key part of the personality. The texture feels more suited to display settings than long-form reading at small sizes, where interior spaces may close up.
