A high-contrast serif with sharply tapered hairlines and sturdier verticals, giving the letterforms a crisp, engraved feel. Serifs are bracketed and moderately long, with pointed, wedge-like terminals that read cleanly at display sizes. Proportions are slightly generous, with open counters and a steady baseline rhythm; round letters are smooth and controlled rather than overly geometric. The lowercase shows traditional text-serif construction (two-storey a and g), with a relatively restrained x-height and clear ascender/descender differentiation.

Well suited to editorial typography such as books, magazines, essays, and longform layouts where a classic serif voice is desired. The crisp contrast and sculpted serifs also make it effective for headlines, pull quotes, and formal materials like invitations, programs, and institutional communications.

The overall tone is traditional and bookish, projecting formality and authority without becoming ornate. Its sharp detailing and contrast add a refined, editorial character that feels appropriate for serious or heritage-leaning typography.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-contrast text serif that delivers a familiar literary voice with polished detailing. It balances readability with a sharper, more elegant finish aimed at editorial and formal presentation.

Capitals have a dignified presence with balanced widths and carefully shaped curves (notably in C, G, O, Q), while diagonals and joins keep a slightly calligraphic tension. Numerals follow the same contrast model, with elegant curves and thin joins that emphasize a classic, print-oriented aesthetic.
