A sturdy serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, bracketed wedge serifs. The letterforms are generously proportioned with open counters and a steady, bookish rhythm; curves (C, O, Q) are full and smooth, while joins and terminals stay sharp and deliberate. Lowercase shows a moderate x-height with strong vertical stress and compact, rounded bowls (a, b, d, p), plus a single-storey g with a prominent ear. Numerals read as oldstyle figures with varying heights and some descenders, matching the text-centric construction.

Well-suited to editorial typography, book and long-form reading, and print-forward layouts where a classic serif voice is desired. It also performs effectively in headlines, pull quotes, and title treatments that benefit from strong contrast and confident serif detailing.

The overall tone is classical and editorial, conveying confidence and formality without feeling overly delicate. Its weight and contrast give it an authoritative presence suited to serious, literary contexts, while the open shapes keep it approachable and readable.

The font appears intended as a conventional, print-oriented serif that prioritizes legibility and a timeless literary feel, while offering enough weight and contrast to carry headings and prominent editorial moments.

The design’s heavier color and emphatic serifs create strong word shapes at display sizes, and the consistent contrast helps maintain clarity in continuous text. The ampersand appears traditional and weighty, aligning with the type’s conventional, print-oriented character.
