A high-contrast serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, hairline connections in curves and joins. Serifs are bracketed and neatly cut, with a traditional, text-oriented skeleton: vertical stems read solid while horizontals and linking strokes fall to fine hairlines. Proportions feel balanced rather than condensed, with a steady rhythm in running text and clear differentiation between rounds and straights. The lowercase shows compact, conventional shapes (notably a two-storey a and g) and relatively short extenders, while capitals carry more vertical emphasis and broad, confident curves.

Well-suited to editorial layouts, book typography, and formal print applications where a classic serif texture is appropriate. It can serve as a strong display face for headlines and pull quotes, while its conventional letterforms also support extended reading in body copy when size and reproduction preserve the fine strokes.

The font conveys a polished, editorial tone—traditional, authoritative, and slightly dramatic due to its strong contrast. It feels suited to environments where sophistication and clarity are desired, offering a calm, classic voice with a refined edge.

The design appears intended to deliver a contemporary take on a traditional, high-contrast text serif: familiar structures for readability, paired with refined hairlines and careful serif finishing to create an elevated, premium feel in both text and display contexts.

At larger sizes the hairlines and sharp terminals become a defining feature, giving the design a clean, engraved-like crispness. In dense settings, the contrast creates lively texture and highlights punctuation and numerals with a distinctly formal presence.
