This typeface is a conventional serif with bracketed, wedge-like terminals and pronounced thick–thin modulation. Stems are sturdy while hairlines and joins become noticeably finer, giving the letters a crisp, engraved feel. Proportions are compact with relatively tight sidebearings, and the curves (notably in C, G, S, and the bowls of a/e) are smoothly drawn with small, tapered finishing strokes. The lowercase shows a traditional, text-oriented construction with a two-storey a and g and a modest x-height, while figures and capitals maintain the same disciplined contrast and sharp serifs.

It suits long-form editorial settings such as books, magazines, and academic material where a traditional serif voice is desired. The stronger contrast and compact fit also make it effective for display applications like headings, pull quotes, and titling where its sharp terminals and sculpted forms can show clearly.

The overall tone is classic and bookish, projecting formality and editorial authority. Its high-contrast detailing and tapered terminals add a refined, slightly traditional character that reads as established and trustworthy rather than casual or playful.

The design appears intended as a traditional text serif with a refined, high-contrast finish—aiming for an authoritative reading experience and a familiar, literary atmosphere while remaining crisp enough for prominent editorial typography.

In running text, the rhythm is steady and vertical, with clear differentiation between rounded and straight forms and a consistent serif treatment across the set. The punctuation and numerals match the same crisp serif vocabulary, supporting a cohesive, print-like texture at larger sizes.
