A heavy serif with calligraphic construction and lively, slightly irregular contours. Strokes show pronounced thick–thin modulation with sharp wedge-like terminals and bracketed serifs that often flare rather than end in flat slabs. The letterforms feel compact in the lowercase, with a relatively small x-height and generous ascenders, while capitals carry broad shoulders and strong weight. Counters are moderately tight and the overall rhythm is slightly bouncy, giving the face a hand-shaped texture despite its solid color on the page.

Best suited for headings, title work, and short blocks of text where its expressive serifs and calligraphic modulation can be appreciated. It works well for book covers, editorial display, cultural or heritage branding, and packaging that benefits from a crafted, traditional feel. In longer settings it produces a dark, textured color that can be effective when ample size and spacing are available.

The tone reads traditional and literary, with a hint of rustic charm. Its energetic detailing and ink-like terminals suggest historical printing and hand-cut type, making the voice feel warm, characterful, and slightly dramatic rather than neutral.

The design appears intended to evoke old-style, humanist serif tradition while emphasizing a bold, hand-worked texture. Its flared terminals and uneven energy aim to provide a distinctive, period-leaning voice for display typography with strong presence.

The sample text shows strong word-shape and pronounced serif activity, which adds personality at display sizes while creating a dense, authoritative texture in paragraphs. Numerals and capitals share the same emphatic weight and tapered details, supporting a cohesive, old-style impression.
