A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and sharply defined, bracketed serifs. The letterforms show a slightly calligraphic construction: curved strokes swell into terminals, counters are generous, and joins have a sculpted, ink-trap-like darkening at stress points. Lowercase features include double-storey a and g, prominent ball terminals (notably on f and j), and lively entry/exit strokes that add texture without becoming ornate. Numerals and capitals carry strong vertical emphasis with crisp serifs and confident, blocky proportions, producing a sturdy rhythm in text.

Well suited to editorial layouts, book interiors, and pull quotes where a classic serif voice is desired with extra punch. It also performs effectively in headlines and display settings, where its contrast, ball terminals, and sculpted joins can be appreciated. For branding, it fits institutions, publishing, and heritage-leaning identities that want traditional credibility with a bold, expressive edge.

The overall tone is traditional and weighty, with an editorial gravitas reminiscent of book and newspaper typography. High contrast and rounded terminals introduce a touch of warmth and flourish, balancing authority with a slightly theatrical, headline-ready presence.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional text-serif foundation while amplifying impact through strong contrast, rounded terminals, and confident, compact forms. It prioritizes a firm, authoritative texture in paragraphs and a distinctive, classic personality when scaled up for display.

In larger sizes the distinctive terminals and swelling curves read as expressive details; in smaller text they consolidate into a dark, even color that favors strong emphasis. The spacing appears comfortable for continuous reading, while the pronounced contrast and heavy stems create a commanding line presence.
