A robust serif with strongly bracketed, wedge-like serifs and pronounced thick–thin modulation. The capitals feel broad and steady, with crisp joins, tapered terminals, and a slightly calligraphic stress that adds movement without leaning or slanting. Lowercase forms are compact and sturdy, with rounded bowls and small apertures that keep a dark, consistent texture; the two-storey a and g and the ball-like i/j dots reinforce a classic text-serif vocabulary. Numerals are weighty and well-modeled, with clear curves and prominent terminals that match the letterforms’ overall sculpted construction.

Best suited to headlines, subheads, and editorial typography where a commanding, classic serif presence is needed. It can also serve book-cover titling and brand marks that benefit from a traditional, authoritative voice and strong contrast on page or screen.

The tone is confident and formal, evoking bookish, institutional, and editorial settings. Its dark color and assertive serifs project authority and tradition, while the calligraphic modulation adds a touch of warmth and craft rather than a purely mechanical feel.

The design appears intended to modernize a conventional text-serif foundation with extra weight, generous proportions, and a more sculptural serif treatment, producing a strong display-ready variant that still retains familiar literary cues.

The face maintains a strong, even typographic color at display sizes, with capitals that read especially monumental. The distinctive wedge/bracket serif treatment and tapered strokes give headings a carved, engraved character, while the dense lowercase texture suggests careful use for longer passages where a firm, classical voice is desired.
