A sturdy serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and generously bracketed serifs that flare into rounded, ball-like terminals in several letters. Curves are full and slightly squarish in their joins, giving counters a compact, weighty feel, while stems remain firmly vertical and the overall texture reads dark and even. Capitals are broad with confident horizontal serifs, and the lowercase shows traditional proportions with moderate ascenders and descenders and a single-storey g. Numerals appear oldstyle with varying heights and noticeable stroke tapering, reinforcing the text-oriented rhythm.

It suits book and magazine typography, especially where a rich, classic page color is desired. The robust letterforms also work well for headlines, pull quotes, and cover lines, as well as packaging or branding that wants a traditional, established impression.

The font conveys a traditional, bookish tone with a strong, institutional presence. Its dark color and emphatic serifs feel confident and slightly old-world, suggesting heritage print and formal editorial voice rather than minimalist modernity.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional reading serif with heightened presence: a text-friendly structure paired with emphatic serifs, rounded terminals, and oldstyle figures for an unmistakably traditional typographic voice.

Large, rounded terminals and softened bracketing reduce sharpness at display sizes while keeping a distinctly serifed silhouette. The bold texture can build dense paragraphs, and the oldstyle numerals visually integrate with lowercase text rather than standing apart.
