This typeface uses dense, blackletter-influenced forms with chunky vertical stems and compact counters. Strokes show an intentionally uneven, hand-inked edge: outlines wobble slightly, terminals are blunt or hooked, and interior voids appear irregular as if cut from wet ink. Curves (notably in C, O, and lower-case bowls) are flattened into faceted shapes, while joins and shoulders break into angular, chiseled transitions. Spacing is not perfectly uniform, reinforcing a crafted, variable rhythm that reads more like stamped or brush-drawn lettering than a strictly mechanical gothic.

Best suited to display settings where its heavy color and textured edges can be appreciated: posters, headlines, title cards, packaging accents, album artwork, and branding for medieval, gothic, or horror-adjacent themes. It can also work for short passages in larger sizes when a strong, historical atmosphere is desired, but the dense forms and irregular edges favor impact over extended small-size readability.

The overall tone is medieval and ominous, with a gritty, handmade severity that suggests old manuscripts, tavern signage, and dark-fantasy ephemera. The heavy color and rough texture create a dramatic, confrontational presence that feels more primal than refined.

The design appears intended to evoke blackletter tradition through bold, faceted letterforms while adding a deliberately imperfect, hand-rendered surface. Its consistent roughness and chunky construction aim for an authentic, aged feel—more like inked lettering or distressed print than polished book typography.

Uppercase letters carry strong blackletter silhouettes with pointed notches and dense interior shapes, while lowercase remains sturdy and blocky rather than delicate. Numerals follow the same rugged, ink-cut logic, prioritizing character over strict uniformity; at smaller sizes the dense counters and textured edges may merge, increasing the sense of weight.
