A sharply sculpted serif with pronounced stroke contrast and a display-first construction. Stems are heavy and vertical, while joins and terminals narrow quickly into fine hairlines, creating a chiseled, posterlike texture. Serifs read as flared/wedge forms rather than bracketed book serifs, and several letters show triangular notches and narrow interior apertures that add a cut-in, engraved feel. The uppercase is tall and imposing with compact counters; the lowercase is similarly weighty, with distinctive, stylized forms (notably the single-storey a and g) and a rhythm that feels intentionally irregular in width and internal shaping. Numerals are bold and compact, matching the high-contrast, carved silhouette of the letters.

Best suited to headlines and short, emphatic settings where its contrast and sculpted serifs can read clearly—posters, magazine or journal mastheads, title treatments, branding marks, and packaging. It can work for pull quotes or chapter openers, but the dense counters and decorative notches suggest avoiding long body text at small sizes.

The tone is forceful and ceremonial, evoking vintage headline typography, playbills, and old-style editorial signage. Its high-contrast blacks and razor-thin connections give it a dramatic, almost theatrical authority, with a slightly eccentric, decorative edge that keeps it from feeling purely classical.

The design appears intended to deliver maximum impact through bold vertical structure, extreme contrast, and flared serif detailing, echoing engraved or wood-type traditions while leaning into a distinctive, decorative construction for contemporary display use.

In the text sample, the face creates strong vertical banding and dense word shapes; spacing and narrow apertures become visually prominent at larger sizes. The design’s distinctive cuts and flared terminals are consistent across uppercase, lowercase, and figures, reinforcing a cohesive ‘carved’ motif.
