This serif italic features narrow, sharply tapered serifs and faceted joins that create a subtly chiseled, octagonal feel in rounds like C, O, and 0. Strokes keep fairly even weight overall, while terminals and serifs add pointed accents and small notches that read as engraved details rather than soft bracketing. The italic slant is consistent and moderately steep, with lively entry/exit strokes on lowercase forms and a slightly irregular, hand-cut rhythm across the alphabet. Numerals follow the same faceted construction, with angular bends and clipped corners that keep the set visually unified.

Best suited to headlines, titling, and short passages where its faceted serif detailing can be appreciated. It works well for book covers, editorial display, heritage branding, and packaging that calls for a traditional yet distinctive italic voice.

The tone is formal and historical, suggesting printed ephemera, bookish titles, and traditional craft. Its crisp angles and sharpened serifs give it an engraved, ceremonial character, while the italic motion adds a sense of flourish and period style.

The design appears intended to blend a traditional italic model with an engraved, cut-stone aesthetic—maintaining familiar serif letterforms while introducing consistent angular faceting for a decorative, period-leaning texture.

Round letters are systematically “squared off” at key points, producing a distinctive polygonal contour that remains readable at text sizes but becomes especially expressive in larger settings. The lowercase shows pronounced calligraphic cues (notably in a, g, y, and f), which adds personality and a slightly archaic texture to paragraphs.
