A high-contrast serif with sharply tapered strokes, fine hairlines, and prominent pointed serifs that often read like pen-cut wedges. The drawing mixes crisp verticals with flicked terminals and small internal notches, creating a lively, slightly irregular rhythm that feels intentionally hand-inked. Capitals are narrow-to-moderate with assertive spurs and occasional decorative intrusions, while the lowercase is compact with a short x-height, tall ascenders, and tight bowls that emphasize verticality. Numerals follow the same contrast and sharp finishing, with curved figures showing thin connecting hairlines and brisk, blade-like ends.

Best suited to display sizes where the fine hairlines and sharp terminals can be appreciated: editorial headlines, book and album covers, poster typography, boutique packaging, and mastheads. It can also work for short pull quotes or title cards, but its ornate detailing makes it less ideal for dense body text at small sizes.

The overall tone is dramatic and antique-leaning, evoking engraved title lettering and storybook display typography. Its sharpness and lively stroke modulation add a touch of mischief and theatricality, making text feel performative rather than purely utilitarian.

The design appears intended to deliver an engraved, high-drama serif voice with calligraphic bite—combining classic contrast with deliberately spiky details to stand out in titles and branding. It prioritizes character and texture over quiet readability, aiming for memorable, decorative impact.

In longer settings the intense contrast and small interior counters can create sparkle and texture, especially where hairlines overlap or pinch at joins. The distinctive, sometimes spurred forms (notably in letters with diagonals and bowls) give headings a branded, emblematic character, but also make the face feel more decorative than neutral.
