This serif shows a robust, dark text color with clear thick–thin modulation and firmly bracketed serifs. Capitals are steady and classical, with wedge-like terminals and balanced, slightly compact proportions. Lowercase forms follow an oldstyle rhythm with rounded bowls, a two-storey “a,” and an “e” with a relatively small, tight aperture; ascenders and descenders are substantial, giving lines a sturdy vertical cadence. Curves and joins are smooth and controlled, while the heavier weight makes internal counters noticeably compact in letters like “a,” “e,” and “s.”

Best suited to headlines, subheads, pull quotes, and display settings where its strong color and crisp serifs can carry a page. It can also work for short editorial passages or book-cover typography when a traditional, authoritative serif is desired, especially in print-like compositions.

The overall tone is traditional and self-assured, leaning toward an editorial and bookish voice rather than a decorative one. Its dense, ink-rich presence reads as serious and authoritative, with a slightly historic character that suggests established institutions and classic print typography.

The design appears intended as a conventional, print-rooted serif with a reinforced weight for emphasis and presence. It prioritizes a classic reading rhythm and recognizable forms while delivering a darker, more declarative texture for editorial and titling use.

At larger sizes the high-contrast strokes and sharp terminals create a crisp, engraved-like impression, while at smaller sizes the heavier weight and tighter apertures can make spacing and counters feel compact. Figures appear lining and sturdy, matching the strong headline-friendly color.
