A classic serif with calligraphic modulation and clearly bracketed, wedge-like serifs. Strokes show a diagonal stress and lively thick–thin contrast, with slightly flared terminals and gently tapered joins that keep the rhythm fluid rather than rigid. Proportions are traditionally bookish: capitals are stately and open, while the lowercase has rounded bowls, compact counters, and softly angled shoulders. Spacing feels even and comfortable in text, and the numerals appear to be old-style with varying heights that blend naturally into running copy.

Well suited to long-form reading such as books, essays, and editorial layouts where a traditional serif voice is desired. It can also support premium branding and packaging that benefits from a classic, humanist tone, and works effectively for pull quotes and headings when set with generous tracking.

The overall tone is cultured and familiar, projecting a sense of tradition and editorial credibility. Its calligraphic warmth keeps it approachable, while the crisp contrast and careful serifs add a refined, slightly formal finish.

The design appears intended to deliver a traditional, humanist reading experience—balancing sharp contrast and crisp serifs with calligraphic softness for an inviting, authoritative text color. It aims for timelessness and readability while retaining enough distinctive detailing to feel crafted rather than generic.

In the sample text the face maintains a steady texture with clear word shapes; the italics lean into a handwritten, humanist feel with more pronounced entry/exit strokes. The ampersand is expressive, and the ‘g’ and ‘y’ show lively, flowing descenders that add character without becoming overly decorative.
