A calligraphic serif with crisp, high-contrast strokes and subtly irregular, hand-cut terminals. Serifs are bracketed and often wedge-like, with a slightly cupped feel at stroke ends that gives the outlines a carved, print-era texture. Proportions lean compact with a notably short x-height and tall ascenders, while counters stay open enough for text use. The rhythm is lively rather than mechanical: curves show gentle swelling, and joins and diagonals (notably in K, R, V, W, X) carry a pen-influenced tension. Numerals follow the same sharp, incised logic, with narrow forms and pointed terminals that keep the set cohesive.

Well-suited to literary and editorial typography where a classic, traditional voice is desired, especially in book interiors, longform articles, and pull quotes at comfortable sizes. Its strong capitals and sharp detailing also make it effective for titles, chapter heads, museum or heritage-themed materials, and premium packaging that benefits from an old-world, crafted impression.

The font conveys a traditional, bookish tone with an old-style warmth and a hint of drama from its sharp terminals and contrast. It feels historical and crafted—more like letterpress or engraved type than a neutral contemporary text face—making it read as authoritative and slightly theatrical without becoming decorative.

The design appears intended to reinterpret old-style, calligraphy-informed serifs with a slightly rugged, carved edge, balancing traditional readability with expressive, pen-like terminals. It aims to deliver a historically resonant texture and distinctive voice while remaining coherent and usable in continuous text.

Uppercase forms are sturdy and formal, with a prominent Q tail and a strong, vertical emphasis in letters like I, H, and N. Lowercase shows a compact, text-like color with distinctive, pointed entry/exit strokes and a rounded, slightly irregular dot on i/j that reinforces the handmade character. Overall spacing appears moderately open in running text, helping the short x-height remain legible.
