A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and generously proportioned, roomy letterforms. Serifs are strongly modeled and mostly wedge-like with visible bracketing, giving strokes a sculpted, calligraphic finish rather than a flat slab. Counters are open and round, curves are smooth, and joins are clean, with a steady, bookish rhythm across upper- and lowercase. The lowercase shows traditional details such as a two-storey “a,” a single-storey “g,” and small ball terminals on letters like “c” and “f,” while the numerals read as oldstyle figures with noticeable ascenders and descenders.

Best suited to display and editorial applications where a strong typographic voice is desirable—headlines, pull quotes, book covers, magazine titling, and poster work. It can also serve for short-form text where a dense, authoritative texture is appropriate and the modeled serifs can be appreciated.

The overall tone is traditional and assured, evoking established print typography and scholarly or editorial settings. Its dark color and emphatic serif modeling convey seriousness and authority, while the rounded counters and calligraphic terminals keep it from feeling rigid or mechanical.

The design appears intended to deliver a classic, print-oriented reading feel with a confident, high-impact color. Its traditional serif forms and oldstyle numerals suggest a focus on editorial and literary typography that balances elegance with presence.

In text, the weight and contrast create a strong page presence, especially at larger sizes, with clear word shapes driven by wide, rounded bowls and prominent serifs. The figures integrate naturally with lowercase thanks to their oldstyle proportions, which can lend a more literary, continuous texture in running text.
