A high-contrast serif with strong vertical stems and hairline connecting strokes, showing a crisp, sculpted silhouette. Serifs are finely bracketed and tapered, with sharp, triangular finishing in places and a generally upright, stately posture. Curves are tightly controlled and slightly calligraphic in feel, with vertical stress evident in rounded letters; the lowercase shows compact counters and a steady rhythm suited to continuous reading. Figures are similarly stylized, with pronounced thick–thin transitions and elegant, sometimes delicate terminals.

Well suited to magazine layouts, literary and editorial typography, and book work where a classic, high-contrast serif is desirable. It also performs strongly in display contexts—headlines, pull quotes, and refined brand identities—where the dramatic thick–thin structure can be showcased.

The overall tone is polished and traditional, projecting an editorial, bookish authority with a hint of luxury. Its sharpness and contrast add drama and sophistication, making it feel formal and considered rather than casual or rustic.

The design appears intended to provide a conventional text-serif foundation with heightened contrast and crisp detailing for a more elevated, contemporary editorial feel. It balances classic proportions with sharper finishing and strong vertical emphasis to deliver clarity and prestige.

In larger sizes the hairlines and fine serifs become a defining feature, while at smaller sizes those delicate details may require careful handling for clarity. The capitals read as commanding and monumental, and the design maintains a consistent, classical cadence across letters and numerals.
