A high-contrast serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, tapered terminals. Serifs are largely bracketed and sometimes flared, giving strokes a carved, slightly calligraphic finish rather than a purely mechanical one. Capitals are stately and moderately wide with strong vertical emphasis, while the lowercase shows oldstyle tendencies—most notably a two-storey “g” and a diagonal crossbar on “e”—with compact bowls and firm joins. Numerals follow the same contrasty rhythm, with curved figures and angled entry strokes that keep the texture lively in setting.

Well-suited to book and magazine typography, literary branding, and editorial headlines where a traditional serif voice is desired. It can also work effectively on packaging or certificates that benefit from a classic, authoritative look, particularly at display and subhead sizes where the contrast and terminals remain clear.

The overall tone is classical and editorial, projecting tradition, refinement, and a slightly dramatic presence due to the sharp contrast and sculpted terminals. It feels at home in contexts that want heritage and authority without looking overly ornate.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, historically grounded reading serif with elevated contrast and carefully shaped terminals, balancing familiar proportions with enough sharpness to add presence and elegance in both text and display use.

In text, the strong contrast and pointed detailing create a sparkling page color, especially at larger sizes. Curves on letters like C, G, and S are full and smooth, while diagonals (V, W, X, Y) stay crisp and controlled, reinforcing a formal, print-oriented character.
