A robust italic serif with strongly bracketed serifs and a calligraphic, right-leaning construction. Strokes show clear thick–thin modulation without becoming delicate, and the curves are full and slightly teardrop-shaped in places. Proportions are fairly generous with broad capitals and roomy lowercase, producing an open texture; ascenders are prominent and the lowercase rhythm is energetic. Terminals are tapered and often subtly hooked, giving the letterforms a lively, traditional book-face feel while maintaining a dark, steady color in text.

Well-suited to editorial typography where a strong italic is needed for emphasis, leads, or pull quotes, and it can also support longer passages when set with comfortable spacing. The sturdy weight and open counters make it effective for magazine features, literary layouts, and headline/standfirst combinations that want a traditional serif voice with added motion.

The overall tone feels classic and authoritative, with an energetic italic voice suited to emphasis and expressive setting. It reads as editorial and literary rather than ornamental, projecting confidence and a touch of old-world refinement.

Designed to provide a confident, text-oriented italic that preserves readability while adding a distinctly calligraphic, classical character. The intent appears to balance sturdy presence with refined serif detailing so it can function as a workhorse italic in editorial and book contexts.

Capitals have a stately, slightly condensed-oval stress and pronounced entry/exit strokes, while the lowercase shows more pronounced cursive influence (notably in j, y, and f). Numerals follow the same italic slant and weight, reading clearly and sturdily alongside text.
