A classic serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and bracketed, wedge-like serifs that taper to sharp points. Curves are generously rounded while joins and terminals keep a crisp, slightly calligraphic edge, creating a lively rhythm across words. The lowercase shows compact vertical proportions and a relatively short x-height, with ascenders that stand tall and a distinctly looped, descending “g”. Capitals feel stately and open, with wide bowls and clean counters, and the figures follow the same high-contrast, oldstyle-influenced construction.

Well-suited to long-form reading in books and editorial layouts where a traditional serif texture is desired. It also performs well for magazine headings, formal announcements, and display-sized titling where its contrast and sharp serifs can provide authority and refinement.

The overall tone is bookish and traditional, with an editorial seriousness that reads as established and trustworthy. Its brisk contrast and sharp serifs add a slightly dramatic, classical flavor suited to formal communication.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, literary serif voice with high-contrast elegance, balancing crisp detail with comfortable, familiar letterforms for print-oriented typography.

Stroke endings often resolve into pointed, wedge-like forms, and many letters show subtle axis and curvature that suggest a pen-influenced construction rather than purely geometric drawing. The “Q” features a prominent tail, and the numerals appear more text-like than strictly lining in feel, contributing to an oldstyle page-color.
