A traditional italic serif with bracketed serifs and a gently calligraphic construction. Strokes show clear, moderate thick–thin modulation and smooth, continuous curves, with a pronounced rightward slant across both cases. Proportions are relatively compact, with open counters and tapered terminals that keep forms crisp at text sizes; ascenders are fairly tall and the lowercase shows a rounded, oldstyle flavor (notably in the double-storey g and the flowing f). Numerals share the same italic rhythm and modulation, maintaining a consistent texture in running text.

Well suited for long-form reading contexts such as books, magazines, and editorial layouts where an italic voice is needed for emphasis, quotations, captions, or introductory text. It can also serve refined branding applications that benefit from a classic, typographic feel, provided ample size and leading are used to preserve its delicate modulation.

The overall tone is classic and literary, evoking book typography and polished editorial work. Its slanted, pen-informed forms add movement and elegance without becoming showy, creating a poised and cultivated impression.

The design appears intended as a conventional text italic that prioritizes readability and typographic tradition. Its moderate contrast, bracketed serifs, and measured slant aim to deliver a dependable italic companion for continuous reading while adding a subtle, elegant cadence.

The spacing and rhythm read even in paragraphs, with a smooth diagonal flow typical of text italics. Capitals remain restrained and traditional in silhouette, while the lowercase provides most of the character through curved joins, tapered endings, and softly modeled serifs.
