A conventional serif with bracketed serifs and clearly modulated strokes that create a crisp light–dark rhythm. Curves are smooth and open, with rounded terminals on many lowercase forms and sturdy verticals that keep the overall color even in text. Capitals feel stately and moderately wide, while the lowercase shows familiar, bookish proportions and a calm, consistent baseline. Numerals are lining and traditional in feel, with pronounced contrast and clear, stable shapes.

Works well for long-form reading such as books, essays, and reports, where the traditional serif structure supports comfortable scanning. It also suits magazines and newspapers, and can be used for headlines, section openers, and pull quotes when a formal, classic tone is desired.

The font conveys a classic, established tone—serious, trustworthy, and a bit old-world without becoming ornate. Its sharp contrast and well-defined serifs add a sense of authority suited to editorial and institutional contexts.

The design intent appears to be a familiar, dependable text serif that balances elegance (through contrast and crisp serifs) with practicality for continuous reading. It aims for a timeless, editorial look rather than a highly stylized display personality.

Details like the two-storey “g,” the crisp “t” crossbar, and the compact, firmly drawn “a” and “e” reinforce a traditional text-serif voice. In larger sizes the contrast reads elegant and refined, while at text sizes it remains structured and legible due to the sturdy stems and open counters.
