A dark, heavy serif with pronounced vertical stress and sharply tapered hairlines that create a crisp, high-contrast rhythm. Serifs are bracketed and often wedge-like, with occasional ball terminals and pointed joins that add bite to curves and diagonals. The capitals are sturdy and slightly condensed in feel, while the lowercase shows compact counters, a two-storey “a,” and energetic entry/exit strokes; overall spacing reads tight and dense, reinforcing a strong text color. Numerals follow the same robust, engraved-like construction with emphatic thick–thin transitions.

Best suited to headlines and display typography where its dense color, sharp contrast, and sculpted serifs can read as intentional and premium. It works well for editorial branding (mastheads, section openers) and dramatic titling on book covers or posters, especially when set with ample leading and comfortable tracking.

The font projects an authoritative, editorial tone—confident and traditional, with a touch of drama from its extreme contrast and sharp finishing. It feels at home in contexts that want historical gravitas and headline impact rather than casual friendliness.

The design appears intended to deliver a classic, print-forward serif voice with heightened contrast for impact, pairing traditional proportions with more aggressive, sharpened detailing. It prioritizes presence and hierarchy, aiming for a strong typographic “stamp” in titles and prominent text settings.

Several glyphs show acute, almost notched interior shaping in joins and terminals, producing an ink-trap or engraved impression at small details. The combination of heavy stems and fine hairlines makes it visually striking, but it benefits from generous size and careful reproduction to preserve the thin strokes.
