This serif displays pronounced thick–thin modulation with crisp, bracketed serifs and a relatively generous overall set width. Capitals feel stately and open, with smooth, rounded curves (notably in C, G, O, Q) balanced by sharply finished terminals. Lowercase forms are compact and traditional, with clear entry/exit strokes, a two-storey a, and a double-storey g; the italic-like liveliness comes from the stroke shaping rather than any slant. Numerals follow the same high-contrast construction and show oldstyle-inspired details such as curved strokes and tapered joins.

Well-suited to editorial layouts, book typography, and magazine settings where a refined, traditional voice is desired. It also performs effectively for display uses such as headlines, pull quotes, and brand marks that benefit from crisp serifs and elegant contrast.

The tone is traditional and cultivated, leaning toward classic book typography and high-end editorial styling. Its sharp serifs and bright contrast create a sense of ceremony and authority, while the rounded bowls keep it from feeling austere.

The design appears intended as a conventional, reader-facing serif with elevated contrast and clean finishing, aiming to evoke classic printing traditions while remaining clear and orderly in continuous text.

The rhythm in text is strong and structured, with clear word shapes and prominent vertical stress. In larger settings the sharp terminals and contrast become more dramatic, giving headlines a polished, heritage character.
