This serif has a sturdy, display-leaning texture with pronounced thick–thin modulation and a largely vertical stress. Serifs are bracketed and often cupped, with crisp, chiseled terminals that create strong triangular and wedge-like finishing strokes. Counters are moderately open, with rounded bowls on letters like C and O contrasting against sharper joins and tapered diagonals in K, V, W, and X. The lowercase shows compact, robust forms with ball-like terminals and a double-storey a, while numerals and capitals carry a stately, engraved rhythm that holds up well at larger sizes.

It performs best in headlines, decks, and pull quotes where the contrast and chiseled finishing strokes can read clearly. It also suits editorial and cultural applications—magazine titles, book covers, and poster typography—where a classic serif voice with extra drama is desirable.

The overall tone feels traditional and editorial, projecting authority and seriousness. The crisp terminals and dramatic contrast add a slightly theatrical, headline-forward energy without losing its conventional bookish roots.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional serif foundation with heightened contrast and assertive detailing for strong typographic presence. It balances traditional proportions with sharper, more sculpted terminals to emphasize impact in display and editorial contexts.

In text settings the heavy color and tight internal detailing in smaller counters can make paragraphs feel dense, while the strong serifs and contrast produce a distinctive rhythm in titles. The ampersand is bold and compact, matching the font’s weighty, formal voice.
