This serif shows pronounced thick–thin modulation with a clear vertical stress and crisp, tapered serifs that often flare into wedge-like terminals. Stems are sturdy while hairlines stay fine, giving strong contrast in letters like E, F, and T, and a slightly calligraphic rhythm across curves. Proportions are on the condensed side with relatively compact bowls and a tidy, controlled footprint; counters remain open and the joins are clean and sharply defined. The lowercase presents a traditional structure with a moderate x-height, a two-storey g, and a compact e, while figures follow the same high-contrast logic with sculpted curves and sturdy verticals.

It performs especially well in editorial contexts such as magazine headlines, section titles, and pull quotes, where contrast and sharp detailing can be appreciated. It also suits book typography at comfortable sizes, as well as branding and packaging that aims for a premium, classic voice. For very small sizes or low-resolution environments, the fine hairlines may benefit from careful sizing and spacing.

The overall tone is polished and literate, with a distinctly editorial confidence. High contrast and sharp, flared endings add drama without tipping into ornament, producing a sense of formality and authority. It reads as classic and cultivated, suited to sophisticated, text-forward design.

The design appears intended to blend classical serif construction with sharper, more sculpted terminals, delivering a condensed, high-contrast voice for refined publishing and brand settings. Its flared endings and disciplined proportions suggest a focus on elegant emphasis and a distinctive page texture rather than neutrality.

In longer text, the condensed proportions and fine hairlines create a lively texture with strong vertical emphasis. The serifs’ flared shaping helps anchor strokes on the baseline and cap line, reinforcing a crisp, engraved feel while maintaining a contemporary cleanliness.
