A high-contrast serif with flared, wedge-like stroke endings and sharply tapered joins. Vertical stems carry most of the weight while hairlines stay very thin, creating a crisp, engraved rhythm in both capitals and lowercase. The capitals are relatively stately with pointed apexes and pronounced triangular terminals, while the lowercase shows clear, readable forms with moderate ascenders and a balanced, neither-small-nor-tall x-height. Numerals follow the same contrast logic, with sturdy verticals and fine connecting strokes that keep the set elegant rather than geometric.

It works well for editorial design, book and magazine typography, and other contexts where a refined, classic voice is desired. The strong contrast and sharp details make it especially effective at larger sizes for headlines, pull quotes, and titling, while careful spacing and moderate x-height also support comfortable reading in short-to-medium text blocks.

The overall tone is polished and traditional, with an editorial seriousness that reads as cultivated and authoritative. Its sharp terminals and strong contrast lend a slightly dramatic, high-end feel suited to classic typography rather than casual or playful contexts.

The design appears intended to deliver a traditional serif voice with heightened contrast and distinctive flared terminals, balancing classical proportions with crisp, contemporary clarity. It aims to project authority and elegance while remaining readable in continuous text.

In text, the font creates a pronounced light–dark pattern: thick vertical strokes anchor the line while hairlines add sparkle, especially around diagonals and in rounded letters. The flared terminals soften the ends of strokes just enough to avoid a purely Didone look, giving it a subtly calligraphic, carved quality.
