A high-contrast italic serif with sharply tapered terminals and bracketed serifs that read clearly at text sizes. The stroke modulation follows a calligraphic rhythm, with pronounced thick–thin transitions and gently cupped joins that keep counters open. Proportions are fairly traditional, with a moderate x-height and lively, varied character widths that create a natural, bookish texture. Forms like the two-storey “g” and the curved, slightly swashed “Q” and “y” contribute to an expressive but controlled italic color.

Well suited for long-form reading in books and essays, as well as editorial layouts where an italic voice is needed for emphasis, pull quotes, and captions. It can also serve refined print applications such as programs or invitations where a classic, formal tone is desired.

The overall tone is cultured and literary, with a poised elegance typical of editorial and book typography. Its energetic slant and crisp contrast add a sense of motion and sophistication without tipping into decorative display.

Designed to provide a conventional, highly readable italic with a distinctly calligraphic contrast and tasteful flourish. The aim appears to balance tradition and expressiveness, delivering an italic that supports continuous text while still offering character for emphasis and headings.

The figures appear oldstyle-inspired in feel, with noticeable contrast and a more handwritten cadence than rigid lining numerals. Uppercase shapes stay stately and restrained, while lowercase details (notably the “f”, “g”, and “y”) introduce subtle flourish that can add emphasis in running text.
