A sturdy, high-contrast serif with broad proportions and a compact, dark typographic color. Strokes show pronounced thick–thin modulation with tapered joins and crisp, bracketed wedge serifs that often read as slightly beaked. Curves are full and rounded (notably in O/C/G and the bowls of b/d/p), while diagonals and horizontals finish with sharp, triangular terminals. Lowercase features a two-storey a and g, a compact ear on g, and ball-like terminals on forms such as j and y; figures are proportional and similarly modeled with strong contrast and sharp finishing.

Best suited to display-driven typography such as magazine headlines, feature intros, posters, and book-cover titling where strong contrast and sharp serif detailing can be appreciated. It can also work for short editorial passages or pull quotes when a traditional, high-impact serif voice is desired.

The overall tone is classic and authoritative, leaning toward an editorial and bookish feel with a confident, premium presence. Its sharp terminals and dense weight lend a sense of seriousness and tradition, while the wide set and rounded bowls keep it from feeling overly brittle.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional serif voice with heightened contrast and weight for emphasis, combining familiar book-serif construction with sharper wedge terminals to increase drama and presence at larger sizes.

In text, the bold weight and wide spacing cues produce strong impact and clear word shapes, especially in headlines. The combination of rounded interior counters and pointed terminals creates a distinctive rhythm: smooth internal flow paired with crisp, emphatic edges.
