A high-contrast serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and sharp, tapered terminals. Serifs are bracketed and slightly flared, giving strokes a carved, calligraphic finish rather than a rigid slab feel. Capitals are stately and open, while the lowercase shows a traditional rhythm with rounded bowls, a two-storey “a,” and compact joins that keep counters clear even at heavier color. Numerals follow the same contrast and serif treatment, with elegant curves and decisive entry/exit strokes.

Well suited to headlines, subheads, and pull quotes where strong contrast and classic serif detailing can be appreciated. It also fits editorial identities, book and magazine covers, and brand marks that aim for heritage or academic authority. For longer passages, it will shine best when given sufficient size and spacing to preserve the crisp stroke transitions.

The tone is confident and traditional, with a refined, literary presence. Its crisp contrast and sculpted serifs suggest seriousness and credibility, while the lively stroke endings add a touch of warmth and old-style charm rather than sterile modernity.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional serif voice with heightened drama through contrast and pronounced serifs, balancing traditional proportions with a more assertive typographic color. It aims to feel established and trustworthy while still drawing attention in display settings.

In text, the font creates strong typographic color and a pronounced vertical rhythm, making headings feel emphatic. The combination of tight internal spaces and sharp contrast reads as more display-leaning than subdued book text, especially at larger sizes where the detailing in terminals and brackets is most visible.
